can some of the landscapers and finish graders tell me what the perfered implements for start up might be. i also am doing lawn seeding and renovation

A good heavy grader box (box blade as some call it) for starters. Woods makes a nice one. A light box won't hold up and won't cut well. I use a 6' box that Massey Ferguson used to make that weighs in around 900#. I believe that either Gannon or Gill may be making it now.
Next I'd probably invest in a pulverizer. I like the one that Landpride makes in the 25 series. The tines are flat steel vs. the spikes that alot of less expensive pulverizers use. The spikes tend to either break or bend when you hit any large buried rocks.
That will get you started. After that there are all kinds of nifty attachments you could look at (Rock hound, Harley rake, etc.). Good luck. ....
